Quem é Mojtaba Khamenei, novo líder supremo do Irã
O presidente dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, disse nesta segunda-feira (9) que está "longe de" ordenar uma missão terrestre no Irã, mas que '"não está feliz" com a escolha de Mojtaba Khamenei como novo líder supremo do país, em entrevista exclusiva ao jornal americano "New York Post"

Questionado se tinha planos para o envio de tropas americanas ao Irã com o objetivo de proteger as instalações subterrâneas de enriquecimento de urânio, Trump afirmou que falta consenso dentro de seu governo sobre que atitude tomar, mas revelou que uma missão terrestre não deve ocorrer em um futuro próximo.
"Não tomamos nenhuma decisão sobre isso. Estamos longe de chegar a um acordo", admitiu.
Sobre Mojtaba Khamenei - filho do aiatolá morto no primeiro dia de ataques dos EUA e Israel a Teerã -, que foi validado como substituto do pai, Trump não quis comentar:
"Não vou dizer a vocês, mas não estou satisfeito com ele".
No domingo (8), antes de o regime iraniano nomear Mojtaba Khamenei como o sucessor de Ali Khamenei, Trump declarou que o próximo líder supremo do Irã não iria durar muito se Teerã não obtiver sua aprovação.
“Ele vai ter que obter nossa aprovação”, disse Trump ao canal ABC News. "Se ele não obtiver nossa aprovação, não vai durar muito".

Dias antes, na quinta-feira (5), o presidente norte-americano afirmou que pretendia participar diretamente do processo de escolha do novo líder iraniano e que a hipótese de ter Mojtaba Khamenei, no posto era “inaceitável”.
“O filho de Khamenei é inaceitável para mim. Queremos alguém que traga harmonia e paz ao Irã. Eles estão perdendo tempo. O filho de Khamenei é um peso morto”.
Em entrevista à uma TV americana, o ministro das Relações Exteriores do Irã, Abbas Araghchi, afirmou que cabe ao povo iraniano, e não ao presidente dos Estados Unidos, escolher o novo líder do país.
O chanceler também exigiu um pedido de desculpas do presidente americano por, segundo ele, ter iniciado a guerra no Oriente Médio:.
"Não permitimos que ninguém interfira em nossos assuntos internos. É responsabilidade do povo iraniano escolher seu novo líder. Trump deveria pedir desculpas ao povo da região e ao povo iraniano pelos assassinatos e pela destruição que provocaram".
