Já pessoas jovens e saudáveis tendem a apresentar menor risco de complicações. Forma de prevenção Como a bactéria se prolifera em equipamentos que utilizam água, a principal estratégia para evitar surtos é a manutenção periódica desses sistemas. Torres de resfriamento de grandes edifícios, por exemplo, precisam passar por limpeza, desinfecção e monitoramento constantes para impedir a multiplicação da Legionella. Quando um surto é identificado, autoridades sanitárias costumam inspecionar esses equipamentos e determinar a descontaminação das estruturas onde a bactéria é encontrada. Em Nova York, a investigação continua para identificar exatamente onde ocorreu a exposição. The statement didn’t have any information about that person’s identity, age, or details on when and how they fell ill, as was the case when city officials on Friday announced the first death in the outbreak on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
